Calico Coffee Bar Visual Suite:
CALICO COFFEE BARLast Summer I wrapped up a really rewarding project for Calico Coffee, and it was a great opportunity to stretch my skills. The scope focused heavily on illustration, an area that sits just outside my usual comfort zone, but that made it especially energizing. As a new coffee shop opening in the already saturated Wilmington third wave coffee scene, Calico reached out to me to differentiate themselves. Coffee’s brand draws inspiration from Captain Calico Jack, an early 18th-century pirate, which presented a fun challenge: translating that historical, adventurous influence into visuals that still resonate with their modern female customer base. Strengthening my illustration and drawing skills is something I genuinely enjoy, and this project pushed me in all the right ways. One of my biggest takeaways from this project was leveraging Adobe scripts to streamline repetitive design tasks, improving efficiency without sacrificing creativity. This marked my final project in Wilmington, for now, but definitely not the last!
